Experience
I have been involved in therapy since 2006 and working with clients since 2012.
I have worked in very short (assessment or one-off interventions), short (up to 4 sessions), medium (6 - 20 sessions) and open-ended settings within NHS IAPT, university student counselling, NHS specialist secondary care, bereavement and low cost therapy services and private practice.
I have worked with a diverse range of clients presenting with a variety of issues. These include (in no particular order)
- mild to severe anxiety and depression
- developmental/relational trauma or specific traumatic events
- those who have attempted suicide or have current suicidal ideation
- self-harm
- childhood sexual abuse
- sexual abuse, assualt and rape in adulthood
- bereavement, loss and complicated grief

- domestic abuse and violence
- sexuality and gender identity issues
- faith based issues
- learning difficulties
- issues with anger
- refugees and those displaced by civil war
- long term and/or chronic physical illness and/or disability
- clients with psychiatric diagnoses
- clients with criminal convictions
- clients whose first language is not English, requiring the support of interpreters
